Revolutionary Martyr Khudiram joined Gupta Samiti at Medinipur in 1902. He was a victim of torture by police due to his active participation in boycotting of foreign goods and canvassing in favour of patriotism. He was sent to Muzaffarpur by Jugantar group to assassinate the district magistrate Kingsford, but the mission failed and another person died. He was sentenced to death by hanging.

Death anniversary of Martyr Khudiram will be observed in a befitting manner on 11 August, 2010 in front of Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata at 10 a.m. Wreath placing will be arranged on behalf of State Government. Apart from Govt. officials, other persons will also pay their homage on the occasion.
