Trading on all Indian birds and wild animals are banned

This year 'Rathayatra' festival is being celebrated from 13th July, 2010 to 20th July, 2010. Under the provisions of Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 as amended upto 20006 trading on all Indian birds and wild animals are banned. The fair in connection with this festival are organized at different places and in such fairs, stalls are opened for sale of Indian birds and wild animals which is totally illegal and punishable under the said Act.
